Buying an MP3 personal player is an ideal gift for someone else whether it’s as a Christmas or birthday gift, or indeed any other occasion. Of course, don’t neglect yourself over buying an MP3 personal player as well. Receiving one as a gift is always wonderful, but when you personally buy an MP3 player for yourself - you know you’ll be getting one with all the latest gizmos and gadgets, just as you like them. Don’t also forget that having an MP3 player can be useful at work and study, as well as for leisure.
Apart from the different brands and models of MP3 personal players, you need to consider if you want something that will just play MP3 files, or do you want it to do more. For the purposes of this article we’ll assume that - you want just an MP3 player, not something that will double as a MP3 player and everything else imaginable. With some great online deals available at present you can get a very basic 128 megabyte MP3 players for less than $5 and even one gigabyte MP3 players with FM radio for as little as $20. Thereafter the price basically rises according to the MP3 file storage space, until you arrive at around the $200 mark for 16 gigabyte models with 2 inch screens. Sony and Creative have long been market leaders in MP3 players but ‘new kids’ Archos are closing fast. Their latest model has a 7 inch screen and 320 gigabytes of storage, but it is retailing at around $500. Of course the Apple iPod remains a favourite at around $200 for a 160 gigabyte model.
Entirely a personal preference of course but having a top class set of safe MP3 player earphones, or headphones, will make all the difference to making the most of your MP3 personal player. Do remember that, your MP3 personal player is personal for you - especially if you’re on public transport and not everyone else wants to hear the latest “drum ’n’ bass” or whatever. So do buy yourself a good pair of earphones that fit you comfortably or a pair of ‘can’ style headphones.
